Kundalini Reiki
A Reiki with nothing ancient about it: an author, a date, a written structure. What sets it apart is the path the energy takes and the room it leaves for intuition.
Ole Gabrielsen, Denmark
Kundalini Reiki was founded by Ole Gabrielsen, a Danish teacher. It’s a contemporary system, far from the image of a practice handed down from the dawn of time: it has an author, a date and a written structure.
The word kundalini comes from the Indian tradition. It names the energy said to unfold along the spine, starting from its base. That’s exactly the path this Reiki follows, and it explains its focus.
I always present it as a complement to Usui, never a replacement. The two don’t do the same work and don’t pick up the same things.
Three differences from Usui
No symbols, no set positions
Where Usui follows a sequence learned by heart, Kundalini lets the practitioner work by intuition. You go where something calls, not where the protocol says to go.
The energy moves through the spine
In Usui, everything passes through the hands. Here, the main channel is the spine: the energy rises from the base upward and moves through the body rather than working it point by point.
A recent system, and openly so
Kundalini was developed by Ole Gabrielsen of Denmark. It isn’t a tradition rediscovered in a temple. It’s a modern system, built by someone you can name.
Three levels, then eight frequencies
Training happens in three levels, as in Usui. On top of those come eight complementary frequencies, each geared toward a particular type of work.
These frequencies carry names specific to the system. Here are six of them, no embellishment:
- Family Memories
- Past Lives
- Diamond
- Crystalline
- DNA
- Location
None of them opens before the three base levels, and none is used as a routine. They’re tools you bring out when the situation calls for it.
This is the system in which I’ve been a Kundalini Reiki Master since 2025.
Kundalini’s general focus is grounding, and the work often starts with your root chakra. It’s meant for times when the dominant feeling is of floating, of feeling nothing under your feet, or of not being able to sit still.
Kundalini comes along
This one I don’t really have to call on. It’s part of my technique and arrives with it. I don’t have to decide to open it: when I start working, it’s already in there.
Together with Usui, it’s the second practice that’s always present in my sessions. The other two, I bring in when needed.
“From the outside, it looks like very little is happening, but the inner impact and the release are huge.”
One person’s experience. Individual experiences vary.
Request a session
You don’t have to choose a technique: in the session I use what fits what you bring. Sessions are pay what you want: you choose the amount after the session, whichever practice was used.
The step-by-step run-through of a session is described on the distance Reiki page: we talk first, you settle in at home, and we talk it through at the end.
Reiki is a wellbeing practice and is not a substitute for medical or psychological care. It doesn’t diagnose anything.
