Distance Reiki, my way of working with energy

One session, always remote. What I bring to it comes from three different practices, learned one after the other since my Reiki attunement in 2010.

The basics

Reiki, explained simply

Before I get to my three practices, let me say what Reiki is, and above all what it isn’t.

Reiki is an energy practice that began in Japan in the 1920s. Its starting idea fits in one sentence: a life energy is said to flow through you, and when it stagnates, that’s thought to explain what drags on: the tiredness that won’t lift, the tension that keeps returning to the same spot, the emotions that stay stuck.

The practitioner’s role is to get that flow moving again where it feels blocked. In concrete terms: no massage, no manipulation, no products. You receive, that’s all.

There are dozens of branches of Reiki today. Almost all of them trace back to the same root, Usui Reiki, even the ones built much later and in their own way.

All my sessions are remote, and that isn’t a workaround: distance sessions are part of Usui training, where I learned them. You don’t travel and you don’t lose half a day. You settle in at home and receive.

One last point, and it matters. Reiki is a wellbeing practice and is not a substitute for medical or psychological care. It doesn’t diagnose anything, replace any treatment, or interfere with any ongoing care. If you have a health concern, keep seeing your doctor.

What goes into my sessions

Three practices, one session

You don’t have to choose anything. I adjust during the session, depending on what you bring and what I sense. These three pages are here so you know where what I use comes from.

There’s also a technique I’ve built over the course of my sessions. It doesn’t have a name yet, and I’d rather not invent one until it has taken shape.

My approach

How I choose, during a session

You don’t pick the technique, and I don’t decide it in advance either.

We always start by talking. I try to understand what you’re bringing. Only after that do I see what fits best, and that comes from the sessions I’ve already done. Over time, you learn what responds to what.

Two of my three practices are there without my having to call on them. Usui flows by default: it’s the foundation. Kundalini comes in on its own, as part of my technique, without my really calling on it.

When something feels heavy, I bring in something else: my own technique, or Arcturian Reiki.

Arcturian is the one I choose deliberately. It goes deep on specific situations, so I save it for when there’s one to work on.

My own technique draws on the same kind of energy as the others: energies of love and light. What differs is what comes out of the channeling. A lot of movement, messages coming through. And I add things of my own, small rituals. It’s not “I show up and, presto.”

How a distance Reiki session works

Nothing mysterious about the setup. Here’s exactly what to expect, from the moment you write to me to the moment we hang up.

1

You write to me

Tell me in a few lines what brings you here, I’ll reply, and we pick a time together. There’s nothing to prepare or install: a quiet spot and an hour for yourself are enough.

2

A short chat first

We start with a short video call. You tell me where you are, what’s weighing on you, what you’d like to let go of. I explain what I’m about to do, so your mind doesn’t have to guess.

3

You lie down, I work

You switch off your phone and lie down at home. Your only job is to breathe and let things come. If you fall asleep, that’s a good sign. On my end, I tune in to your energy and work where it feels stuck.

4

We talk it through

We talk again at the end. I tell you what I sensed, area by area, and you tell me what you felt. You leave with clear ideas for the days ahead.

What I notice

What people usually describe

I can’t guarantee anything, and I won’t start now. What I can do is tell you what I see coming up again and again.

During the session, most people settle into a calm state close to a nap. Many lose track of time. Some feel movement or warmth. It really varies from one person to the next.

What comes up most often afterward: calm, a sense of ease, a feeling of lightness.

“Is it going to work?” My answer is that you have to trust, and you’ll see. I can’t promise you more than that.

Over several sessions, the work goes deeper. It’s like the gym: going once already does your body some good, but it’s by going back that you feel the difference.

Some people stay in their head and walk away feeling they sensed nothing. It happens, and often they notice the benefit afterward. I’m not turning that into a rule, and none of this is a promise: it’s simply what I’ve observed so far.

In practice

The same session, pay what you want

Usui, Kundalini or Arcturian: the amount doesn’t depend on the practice used in the session.

01

You write to me

A few lines about what you're going through. I read every request myself, I reply, and we choose the time of your session together.

02

We do the session

About an hour, remotely, by video call. You settle in somewhere quiet at home. There's nothing to prepare.

I want these sessions to stay within reach of anyone who needs one. If it helps to have a ballpark, some people give $20, others more than $100. Whatever you give is welcome, with no need to explain.

Feedback from sessions

What these people describe is what they felt during their own session. Not a result I’m promising, and not one technique in particular: they didn’t choose it. Individual experiences vary.

“I did my session remotely and I was completely blown away. I literally felt like I was being touched physically, like I could feel a weight or pressure on certain areas, when I wasn’t.”

So., after a distance session

“I was very skeptical at first, my mind resisted a lot. […] But it was by going through all 3 sessions that the real shift happened.”

P., after three distance sessions

Reiki is a wellbeing practice and is not a substitute for medical or psychological care.
